I have a late model 1 pc. seal block and have 2 cranks. Both are stock .std size GM pcs. One is steel and the other is cast. I have a set of X rods and Mahle flat top piston for the engine. Just for another play toy......not a daily driver....Thoughts?
Depending on your RPM's and HP your planning on turning I'd get a set of good aftermarket rods as the X rods are good for stock the aftermarkes's are lighter and more durable to the loads you might be putting to them.
I've learned the hard way that saving a couple bucks on using stock rods will trash a bottom end when they buckle and destroy all the $$$ I put in the machiene work!
I have not put a motor together since that little lesson with out a good H beam rod.
