Well I found out which block I really have, now I need some more help with the heads.
D3ve-2a2...73 lincoln thats as far as I got.
Anybody know more...like valve size, chamber CC, runner CC. Are the junk or are they worthy of a rebuild for a mild performance big block, say in the 425-450hp range?
I haven't torn down this beast yet. I figure I try and find out what it is first. If I don't like, want or need it...well, back to the junk pile. If it's worthy junk maybe I'll blow some more cash and really piss my wife off.

per my ford manual these are the specs for a 460 in 73 : motorcraft 4300 4v carb
hp 224 @ 4400 rpm torque 357 @ 2800 rpm
comp 8.5:1 bore- 4.36 stroke- 3.85
crank-2.9994 main 2.4992 rod cast alum pistons
intake valves 2.245 exh 1.725 rocker ratio 1.73:1
internally balanced engine
crank is cast iron rod length 6.6035
centerline to deck 10.3"

Hey thanks man, Just what the doctor ordered.
What do you think about performance potential?
there on a 71 block and as far as I can tell someone built it up a bit. I think it's got 10.5 pistons in it but a rebuild is inevitable. Would you use'm?? the heads that is.

sure thing. from another book i have it states that the standard heads yield adequate compression for most performance setups. most of the heads are 88cc.
also most of the 429 parts will swap with the 460!!
put a set of 429 heads on and strap yourself in!!!!!
the best thing to do is another intake manifold, a better carb, mild rebuild and you will have monster under the hood! check with a local engine builder or ford racer who has one and go from there. luck with your project.
