I am planning on chopping the top on my '76 GMC pickup and would like to get hold of a How To possibly some pics of the operation or any words of wisdom anyone may have.
I have read about leaning the windshield back, on a post here somewhere, but I think I would rather do the regular chop and face the Windshield nightmare , I'm sure there is someone somewhere that can tell me the best way to cut the glass down to size.
Any Info will be greatly appreciated.

Well, attempting to lower your lid eh? Pay close attention to your window frames on your doors, if you mismeasure or just make a mistake somewhere you will never be dry or without the seeping wind. Chopping the top is pretty simple after you get past the measurments. Buy a die cast model of your truck and chop it, keep the neasurements and everything you did to it down to the last last thing, this will give you a good idea on your truck. Cutting glass isn't for the home toolman, even the pros have trouble and break a few. Go slow, measure 4 times cut once. weld fast to keep the warpage down to a minmum. Write down a detailed plan to what you want to do before you start, because once you start if you get another idea it may not be possible do to your choice of cuts. Come up with a plan, make sure thats what you want, and then go from there. If you need anymore help after your plan PM or e-mail me.
