I have installed a S/W speedometer with the 82646 Magnetic pick up.It works fine !But it is regestering to fast of a speed. Is there a simple method to use to slow the unit down without a lot of work?In other words is ther a way I slide the switch levers to just slow it down?Thank you for your help.

Didn't you get a user's manual with it? I have a VDO electric speedo and it has a series of dip switches on the back of the head. To calbrate it, I just drive the car in a controlled area (follow someone at 60mph or in a measured mile), ratio my speedo reading to 60 mph, then go into the documentation to find the settings on the dip switches to calibrate the speedo. Works great. If I change tire sizes, it's a snap to recalibrate.

You fellas are both right of course! I was trying to eliminate driving the measured 5 miles and then refering to the calibration chart and setting the 16 switches
The 5 miles must be done with a correct speedo, and then mine must be calibrated to that distance. It worked out fine.
Thanks
