Hi guys I have a 1996 Chevy s-10 Blazer. I will be replacing my exaust. ( Catalytic converter and muffler till i can afford headers)

I will be using flowmaster original 40 for a nice loud sound.
This is my first time doing this. From the Cat back I will also be upgrading the pipe diameter to 2 1/2 inches. I think the old 2 1/4 inch is to small. Is 2 1/2 inch pipe good for backpressure, and sound? What are some easy ways to bend exaust piping without kinking it? What are some tricks when doing exaust systems? Help Thanks, Chris

Depends how good you are at welding, Chris. You can get to the muffler(s) and tailpipe easily by taking off the box (4 bolts and a friend...it doesn't weigh much). The cat(s) are under the cab and much harder to get to. If you are willing to leave it stock from the collectors to the cats it will save a lot of work.

You can by mandrel-bent pipe from lots of places, including summit. You just have to cut and weld.

I'm about 90% in agreement with Iluciano...After fooling with mine for a while I took it in to West Coast Muffler in Concord and they did a terrific job in about 3 hours. However, it was sort of fun to at least try it myself.

I might add that, in the long run, it will probably cost you LESS to take it to a good muffler shop.

Have fun!!
