350 chev wont start, just backfire

G'Day hoping someone can help me with little issue im having with my vehicle.

Problem:
Engine is backfiring through carby or exhaust instead of starting. Been thru timing and can't find a fault (maybe I missed something).

Vehicle setup:
350 chev with mild cam
750 double pumper (holley)
Procomp electronic distributor
MSD coil

This problem has started since fitting a NOS plate kit, could the issue be with this????

Backfiring through the carb or exh sounds like a timing issue to me. Did you change anything timing wise when the nitrous kit was installed (like rotating the distributor)? Have you verified your ign timing with a timing light? Check over you vacuum advance if equipped. Also check the mechanical advance. I was thinking about all the basic timing issues that might cause this.

Check the NOS plate for a big hole missing a plug. That's just a guess. Or maybe a big hole in the rear base of the carb that's missing a connection or plug.
