Does anyone know what to look for when checking the suspension on my 51? I do not have it in the yard yet and I am just trying to get as much info as I can before I start tearing anything apart. I am not planning on doing a frame off but I do want to upgrade most things (disk brakes, new shocks, springs, air-ride?, steering, etc.) This is my first rod and it is all new to me. I am used to obscenely high lifted trucks, not the low and cool. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Go easy on me for not seeing the light before!

A general check of the front "A" frame bushings and upright supports is in order. New parts are still available. Relocate the front shocks.

Fatman Fab. has dropped uprights that will lower the car. Also disk brake kit and a Cavalier rack and pinion front end setup. These will make the old MoPar handle and stop.

Sweet! thats what I was hoping to hear. i want to be able to start, stop, and look good doing it! :D I think everything is pretty solid so a total frame and front end reconstruct should not be needed.

Another question I have is if I put the disk brakes on what else am I going to need to make it a power setup? Of course the master cylinder and booster but do I need to change anything in the rear, lines, etc.?
