This thread has alot of different image styles and illustrations, a good example of all kinds of artwork these guys can do in both photo and illustration, take a look and make sure you open the larger images and see the artists details too.

Thanks OnlyRacing!

Here ya go Deadbodyman. A little Idea what you can do with a $300.00 program (CorelDraw & Photo paint) You gotta realize tho, I have 15 years of experience with the program! It don't happen without lots of practice...and patients:D

Thats exactly what I'm talking about, forty....Amazing,...boy I really missed the boat with the computor,I'm gonna have to work real hard to get caught up.The guys at the shop dont even email and just dont understand or care what their missing,I thought that little truck had a great chop till I saw yours...much better...how long did that redo take, forty?

Doodler,is this a computor program that makes this stuff or are you and 57 artists? My buddy just had his 53 4dr chevy chopped and on the computor and it looked real...this is real cool stuff how do I learn how,I'm no artist though...
I draw it all by hand, then I have to scan it in and redraw it in Illustrator to get that "animated cell" look. Like Forty said, it's A LOT of practice. I've been drawing since I was 3 years old. I found some of my first car drawings and I framed them and hung them above my drawing table.

You got that right forty, I'm losing mine (patience), PS3 extended, CS4 and a few other programs, big file, lots of slowing down the comp. I thinkfor a beginner PS2 is easy to handle once you learn layers or this friggin pen tool, lol. Yours, Doodler's, DVestra and graffixman's stuff is complete illustrations, I know personally I''ll never reach those levels.

Thanks deadbodyman

It took about an hour to chop the little truck. There are many ways and programs to do artwork. And like Doodler I do some drawings by hand and then scan it in. I still have a lot to learn about backgrounds and special fill.

what program would a new guy (like me)be able to do chops and drops to get the right look before actually cutting the car? I'm not very good on the computor just learned to copy and paste a few weeks ago.Is it even possible for someone like me.... are there books out there? I am interested

There's alot of tutorials on the net and some may look very intimidating once you start looking at them, but keep in mind you may be looking at some advanced tutorials that are way out of many of our leagues. I personally recommend photoshop since it does everything but it's expensive and there is a fairly hard learning curve. But for me it was like I got kicked in the head and it all started to click, learning layers and blending modes was the trick.

I personally taught a friend whom had never used Photoshop before how to make an image in less than a hour with a template I made, we call them signatures on a message board, he returned the favor by giving me the latest copy of Photoshop complete of all programs for free, around 1,700 us.

like the others with drawing and scanning, I do most of mine cutting out a car and just using Photoshop and images I have of sky and grounds. Thereare some programs like GIMP, which I never tried but people do like it and I do believe it's free. Illustrator is tough also, i give these guys credit for this steep curve they went through.

Just grabbing a picture and using a programs filter can really make some cool stuff. Like HDR photos, line manipulations and so on. I prefer cutting out my image and then just brushing it and adding styles or gradients for colors and really manipulate the skies and grounds for effects.

I was hoping one day some of the guys would do a tutorial with screenshots of their programs also when they have time to show others, how relaxing and fun it can be.

Here's a shot I just did of my '55 Cadillac. I edited the image in photoshop pretty extensively, and I liked how it turned out so much that I decided its time to hit the art supply store & pick up a canvas. So now, I'm starting in on a painting of this same image, no idea when I'll have that finished though so I'm posting this for now.

I'd like to add this to the others Bill-E-Bob if you don't mind, actually I feel like grabbing it and adding some grunge effects to it, lol. I think it would look cool.

Not to sound dumb, but what do you mean by add it to the others? I haven't entered an art contest on here before, I thought posting my photo in this thread was all I'm supposed to do, no?
