I am needing a crank for my build, I have a set of light weight rods, a set of wiseco forged pistons weighing 400 grams. I have been looking at Ohio Crankshaft 4340 cranks. Would I be better off to stick a stock cast 442 crank in this engine, I have always ran stock cranks in my race motors with no problems. This engine is a little better parts this time and I was thinking I needed a little better crank. I am not allowed to lighten the crank and rotating weight is the enemy.

That is what I was thinking also, it seems like all the steel cranks are considerably heavier than a stock cast one. With the engine have a 2 barrel carb and 7" tires it is not making a lot of power or really being pulled hard. The most rpm it will see is 7000 but most nights 6500.
