I just got done reading and older thread about doing this , but as luck would have it, it must'v been too old.

Here's my project;

I wanna convert a Volare` station from a 4-door car to a 2-door car . Now I know there's a list of things to watch out for such as the A-Pilar posts lean back farther/at a greater angle. I also believe that the 2-door doesn't have a wing window whereas the 4-door does accompandied with a frame across the top of the door. So here's my idea. Use the 2-door to relocate the door jamb latch. Then remove the window frame from the 4-door and section the 4-door to the correct length by using the 2-door's outer skin and use whatever's sectioned off the old 2-door to the new 2-door for strength. So far. What's your thoughts ? What's your suggestions if any?

There was a guy here, in Delaware, that created a 2 door 68/69 Ford Falcon wagon out of a four door. I used to see the car every time I went to his shop but I never took any pics. There are a few around because he did get some national coverage on the car. Anyway, I believe he went the 2 door sedan center section route. and created his own rear passenger side window area.

If I was contemplating this conversion I'd be trying to find a beater 2dr. Volare car to get the longer doors, plus the area where the doors latch and part of the roof also from the 2 door. Without the doors, and these other pieces to work into the wagon this can easily end up ill fitting, and not sealing well.If you cut out the B pillar on the wagon and then hang the 2 door doors you can then use the donor post and roof line parts to fit to the new doors. You can also use sheet metal from the 2 door body to fill in the gaps between the 2 dr. and 4 dr opening to make this work.

Yeah, short doors on a 2 door car just don't look right. I'll keep looking for a pic. I know he won Best of Show at a Falcon Club of America event. That was probably 20 or so years ago.
don't volares turn to dust & blow away after 5 years , like most early unibody stuff ?
lol, actually they rust / rot out really badly. FMJ bodies all rot in the front frames really badly. However , I'll cross that road when I get there. I.E. front sub caps and simple boxed frame repairs are pretty easy.
