very cool. I do enjoy what you are doing. Keep up the good work

Totally beautiful transformation  It reallt sets the front off now. Great job.

I just now noticed the ceiling of your covered area in the pic above the Texaco globe. Looks to be beadboard. Is it a vinyl product or wood? I like the looks of that over conventional soffit.

Thanks for the complements everyone.

Kevin,
Yes, it is wood beadboard painted with oil base paint. I used oil based on it and the garage doors and latex on all the Hardie siding.

Stars Completed

Thanks for all the compliments!

Got my stars done. I filled the seams with lead, primered with SPI epoxy, painted with ss urethane in Texaco red and then cleared with SPI universal clear.

Still haven't ordered the letters yet but hope to soon. I also intend to set in those concrete pads for a walk way to the restroom entry on the left side and get rid of the ugly old carpet.

Concho Valley Corvette Club

It was "Spontaneous Sunday" for the club and they decided to drop in!
Nine Corvettes in all. Ten including mine inside the garage.

Update:
I have ordered the letters to put the words "MARFAK LUBRICATION" and "WASHING" over the bays. They should be in next week.

Also, thanks MRGM for the complements on my shop!

great meet spot.

Man, you do some nice work! I built my shop in 84 and installed an 8' 'back door' and ended up with a 10 about a year later lol. I did my walls in 3/8ths from the beginning tho but man, yours is up scale compared to mine lol. My dad and I did everything except for concrete finishing which was subed out.....and is the only thing that turned out crappy.

Finally got the letters up over the bays.

And some news!
I was contacted by a magazine that is doing an special issue called Great Garage Makeovers and my shop is going to be included.
They sent a professional photographer who spent about 6 hours taking photos.

Thanks Kevin!

MRGM,

It's a special issue titled "Great Garage Makeovers" sponsored by the Meredith Corporation which publishes more than a dozen different magazines. It is targeted for newsstands around December or January.

Congrats, Rog. Keep us posted, errr, reminded, CRS affects me and I really would like to see the magazine. :D If the issue were coming out this week I might be able to remember, but Nov-Dec is a lonnng ways away! :D

Snow this morning

It doesn't snow very often here in San Angelo so I thought I would post a picture from this morning.

Please excuse the mess. I am in the middle of remodeling the kitchen and dining room inside the house and everything is a little scattered around right now.

Has the mag. article hit the stands yet?
Love the snow...since you got it. Here in my part of IA we have only seen flurries.
