i have seen the gun but never used it or known anyone who has.....yet. it is a good idea i guess. for those of you who arent familiar with it its a gun "system". mainly for custom painters i guess or those of us who change colors alot. its a gun handle and the head and cup assembly detach so you can have 3 diffent colors mixed up and switch between all three in seconds without having to clean/rinse and all that crap.

 

I don't know how it sprays, but it looks like one for the "touchy feely" type. The ones that want a certain feel for a gun. If it fits them, they have 3 guns with the same feel, since they are using the handle for all 3. Then again, if they don't like the feel, they have 3 guns that they don't like.

Like the others, Ive never used one but if I was going to get a foreign made gun I think for $400 bucks I would put my bread into a Sata with and extra fluid tip set up, and use the money left over to by an Astro for primer. Mainly because I know ten years from now Sata, also Iwata Devillbiss etc: will still be here and I will be able to get replacement parts. Just my opinion though, take it for what its worth. Al

I kinda like the design,it comes with 3 heads ( a 3for 1 deal!)

 

Dura-Block 007

I have had the gun for a little bit now. I have been spraying with mainly satas for over 10 years. I just recently been using the new iwata 400. Since I got the 007 I have been really putting it to the test. I have to say its one tough gun. Sprays really well, much better than my sata rp,, prob not as good as my iwata, but its definetly up there. I was weary too but when I read what the gun can do,, time is money and in my shop, that is very true.. No other gun I know of can switch from clear to base to primer that quick. Just my 2 cents

 

I also have the 007. I was mainly worried about it having an inconsistant spray pattern. I can deal with about anything else, but when laying down a light metallic with a gun that has a choppy fan, well just sucks. But i was pleasantly suprised. The fan was perfect. And i tested its range also. I got it to about 11.5inches before it lost a little consistancy. I am very happy with the gun.
You not only get three different heads, but each head has a different size tip.
You really are getting 3 paint guns for the price of one.
I was using a friends digital Sata. I honestly say this gun sprays better. It definately kills my Devilbiss. I dont have an LPH400.
Im sure others will differ. But i think its safe to say, this gun is one of the top quality guns out. But you cant really go wrong buying any one of the top quality guns out there.
ULTRA AL had a good point though, what about spare parts in the future. ? i dont know.

I am in the market for a new paint gun and I am wondering if anybody can give me their opinion on the durablock 007. Everywhere I look I cant find anyone who has anything to say about it other than the people selling it.

Sorry, I just noticed what i did. This is why you don't type and talk on phone the same time.

In my travels I have ran across two jobbers who have tried the guns, the one said he had one out to a Toyota dealer as a primer gun and they like it pretty good.
The other said he had sold one as a clear gun and had mixed results so far
but he pointed out this was not a real experienced painter.

The gun must be pretty new as have not really seen it anywhere else.
Time will tell.

 

Dura-Block 007

I called the 800 number and found that they stock every part of the gun. I found out that the rebuild kit alone is around $20 bucks. Amazing. I am quite impressed. I heard they are developing a 4.0mm head unit to spray large metal flake. I have sprayed the gun about 25 times and have not had to replace any parts. I do a complete cleaning and tear down of the head everytime. A freind had told me that craig fraser uses the gun alot and seems to like it.

Laugh all you guys want but Im hiding my Binks #7 gun from the EPA feds and when they catch me they will have to pry it from my cold dead fingers.
Ive used hvlp guns and dont like em. Try spraying a jet with one. I just like material out my gun. I feel like Im trying to paint a model car with one.
Ok Ill shut up.

How much more expensive than $500 can you get for a spray gun?
Another guy said "3 guns for the price of 1". I don't know of any $1500 spray guns out there.
I have an LPH400 and two digital Sata 3000RPs and none of them cost me $500 and all are a much better investment than a Chinese made gimmicky 3 headed gun.
The Durablock is probably a good gun at $200, but for $500?

 

Believe it or not Harbor Freight had them awhile back but when I checked the link just now I found they have discontinued them.

You get the the equivelnt use that you would get with three complete guns for $500 (I got mine at the nace expo for $399) you can't buy three good guns for any where near $500. My sata 2000 cost almost $500 and that was a promotional price. The 007 is a good gun for the home user you get a 1.0,1.4 and 1.7 plus three cups.
On the other hand it sucks as a production gun too much trouble changing the heads back and forth.

 

Oops! I'm not sure where my $1500 logic came from.
Think I'll keep quiet next time.....
