i would think that one of the dart big or little M blocks would do, but if you are only looking at aluminum for weight savings then they also make good aluminum blocks that will withstand well more than 1000hp. i seriously think the one's that you were looking at in the original post are primarily for 2000hp and up all out competition motors.
