I have decided to sell both set of my heads and go AFR. I want to stay under 7,500 RPM probably shifting at 7 because of the stock block so either the AFR 227cc or the AFR 235cc which would you choose ( yes I have my heart set on AFR )
Also thought the cam was a little big thought about getting it machined down to like a .630 but also wanted to input there also. I HAVE ALREADY PAYED $710 to plug the steam holes deck, bore and line bore the block and put new freeze plugs in so I'm not going to get a shp or dart little m and I know I know I should have but I had that block setting in the shop so I used what I had. my goal is 575hp

Cam ( Roller )
Lift - 657 - Duration 272/278 - Centerline 112 - Intake 443 / Exhaust 447

Pistions - Wiesco flat tops
Rods Eagle - 6" H-beam
Crank - Scat 4340 forged

you can use 220 AFRs for 575 hp.I use the 227 cc heads and surpass that by a few ponies.Vic Jr is enough, 950 Holley HP is also what I use.You will be past the safe power potential of the block,,,
NOTE: you can also use a hydraulic cam for your power wants,,,
do your math if you plan to use a pump gas for fuel

yes that cam spec is at .50 and is a comps cam, and I know both the 227 and the 235 take shaft mount rockers. reason for the ****ty rods is they were cheap got it all for under 1000, I wanted the 227 or the 235 because this motor will only be use a season maybe 2 then set on the shelf for a backup and replaced with a 434 and I would like to have either of the heads so I don't have to buy a new set. my goal is 575 but this is a 112vp Bracket car so I wont be balls out ill slow her down and make her consistent. I did look at the 220s but the price was not that much more for the 227 comps but I see what ur saying about the shaft mounts they can get up there in price. and I really didnt think 7/7500 was up there in rpms I was shifting at 62 6500 with a stock gm crank I beams and some trw pistions and when I took the motor apart the block looked great! could have just been lucky, then my buddy shot me a price for all his stuff listed above so I bought it then my motor builder a picky guy would not put it back together without a fresh bore so I got the spare block fixed up and then decided my 210cc heads just wasn't going to cut it for this build much less the next
ps
holly 920 and a super vic.

With a 13 to 1 421SB and a set of AFR235 I have made 700+ HP down under. If your goal is 575 you can make that with 220's and pump gas at around 6200 rpm. If you want to turn it to 7000 rpm then the 220 and cam in the 260 range will make 650Plus.
