How's this for an idea

Since pouring oil on your tires helps out with a good burnout. I was thinking of a way to squirt some on your tires by just pushing a button on you dash. I got to thinking that if I ran the hose from my windsheild washer fluid pump that it would be a good idea for this. But does anybody know if the pump can handle oil? Because if it could this would be an easy little trick even though i wouldn't be able to wash my windsheild going downthe highway anymore.
What do yall think?

I've heard of people using their windshield washer fluid hose and route the tip into the exhaust, and then whenever someone is tailgating you, you can just squirt some oil into your exhaust and leave them in a cloud of smoke. So if that's true, I guess the hose can support it? Might also wanna look into bleach.
It's a great idea, but problem is, are you gonna be able to squirt enough to really even help your burnout, AND, you're gonna have to route 2 hoses, one to each wheel.
Good luck, sounds like a good idea

I think it should be able to put out enough to help, all I'd be using oil for is to help break the tires loose. Im more worried about the pump gumming up from the oil than I am hooking it all up. Because routing a couple hoses to the rear tires is nothing. I wonder if an old electrical fuel pump would work better. I bet I could find one in a junk yard.

I'm with Brackateer on this one. Just give it a well needed dose of horsepower.

Think of the flip side....
You dump oil on the tire at a stop light. Next day, your Mom is driving your sister to dance class. She tries to stop, but hits the oil you dropped. She gets in a horrific crash with an ice cream truck. The ice cream truck is late for the Big Pee Wee football game. All those fans missed their ice crean, Mom and Sis are in the hospital, and YOU have to fix her car because you didnt want to change the camshaft.....god, I need coffee...

oiling the tires

First, Im at a loss why anyone would pour oil on tires, except to make a lot of smoke. Oil will permiate your tire compound and reduce its traction capabilities, even after you burn 10,000 miles worth of tread off of them. If you are planning to drive your vehicle on the street with those tires on it, do me a favor and dont drive near me. I would much prefer you have all the traction your vehicle is capable of, in case you have to make a sudden stop or lane change. The last thing needed on the streets is squirrely behavior.
If you are wanting to spin your tires, to clean them off or even just to make smoke, just use good old H2O. Thats what they use at the dragstrips,
Beenaway2long, that was a very descriptive chain of events you listed there.
Wish I had thought of it. LOL.

Thanks guys, I think I'll rig it up but only use water in it like max keith said. I was thinking of using oil in it because its an old trick my dad taught me, but I never thought of someone else running through it after I've finished with it. Besides I'm only doing this on old backroads because you have to be an idiot or something to do that on a busy street from what Beenaway said.

Alternatives

From what it will cost you to plumb in a tank, pump, hoses etc, and the time involved, you could probably get a good set of headers or some other minor mods to your engine, which would, in my opinion be more rewarding than burning the miles off of those expensive tires, and not going anywhere.
As we used to say in the old days.
Smoke is for show; Hooking up is for go.

It shouldn't cost me but about 5-10bucks for the hose, I would be using the windsheild washer resoivor thats already hooked up and hose a pump and everything ready to go. And Ive already done a bunch of the minor mods out of the way, even the bigger ones such as rebuilding the engine and tranny. I haven't gotten to the rearend yet but I plan on it as my next part to tackle. This pump Idea I posted about is just a cheap little idea I had. If I had to go buy an entire pump and hoses and all that for it, I wouldn't even be messing with this idea.

Clorox

MMMM, am I the oldest one here that remembers this. Clorox was the liquid of choice for the dragstrip in the late 60's and seventies. We used to bring a couple of gallons. You want smoke.... just try it. If you feel the clorox with your fingers you can feel how slipery it is. It dries fairly quickly and does not leave the a "slick" for days. So the ice cream man can do his job.

By the way I had this set up on my V-8 Vega GT wagon...very cool at the midnight drag races.

The attached pic was taken with a 110 camera when I was in high school. So it does not look the greatest.

That is a bad idea on every conceivable level. Many of them have been pointed out in above posts but the worst one is what happens to your car when the rear tires have no traction. That is guaranteed to be an E-ticket ride and a very lethal one at that. Please don't do this on the street.

I had a 68 Coronet 4 door when I was in high school. cleaned out the washer fluid tank real good & ran the hose inside the car..in the glove box.
Fill the tank with my favorite cheap whisky, than go to the drive in, get consession stand sodas ,drink off some soda & add whisky at the push of a button.

thats pretty crazy. Did the washer fluid residue in the system give the whiskey a little extra flavor?

Ghetto didn't think so. LOL!!!!
Haha, hey if I felt like it I would get out of my car on Pennsylvania Avenue and dump a quart of oil on my tires then make enough smoke that the President notices.

I've power braked my car on various main streets with lots of traffic and pedestrians, or as I like to think of them spectators.

WakeBoarder have you thought about line lock?

I never thought of them as spectators! I plan on buying a linelock pretty soon, this whole windsheild washer idea was just a cheap trick to add to it. I was just wondering if the oil would gum up the pump or not.
