Hei would be your best bet as stated if you have the room,
But i have ran petronix conversions several times and always had good luck
Just don't forget and leave the key on. I only had one failer and it was my bad wasen't paying attention to some work with the wiring that was done before me. :spank: IMHO It's a good cheaper fix that does work alot of people use it but HEI is the way if you have the funds to do so. JMO

check this one out, don't bother with conversion IMHO cause you just can't beat this for value,,,yeah over sea's but made well and it works for me, my 2cents, yeah some cars won't allow the HEI cause its too big...good point T bucket

+1 It's procomp but mine has been working fine. I got the clear one that shows the sparks at night. Really helps to get the chicks in the back seat...

As said, if you have space for the HEI, It's a no brainer. You can still upgrade to a bigger coil and MSD SF or 6AL ignition later with the HEI.

Custom10, KMJ has the same dist. for 49 bucks. Mine is in the closet because I'm afraid of it. I wanted a hotter coil and got an adj. vacuum advance with it and no spec's on the amount of adv. it's capable of. The HEI I have on the engine now works great, so why mess with it? If you think the HEI has a big cap, the Procomp is even bigger. Another thought is if the module goes bad, where am I going to get another one in a hurry?
All these unanswered questions are why it's still in the closet! It's hard to beat a stock HEI because all you need usually to get it to work better, is an advance weight and spring kit. It really woke up the bottom end and mid range on my engine. :D

yeah OK each to his own sqz,,, I know I had some reservations myself but I am not disapointed to this point and have recurved it and set the limits on it with ease,,,so far so good and at 53 bucks well that's good value.

why not keep yours under the seat? at least that way it might get you home when/if the stocker fails, its no good to ya in the closet ;)

Yah mon! That's probably why I haven't sold it yet. Swaping out a dizzy in a lifted 4x4 is a PITA! When the HEI gives it up someday, It'll happen I guess.

If you could PM me with the process you used to re-curve it and set the limits, I would be eternally grateful for the info. The only info I have is the installation inst. from the KMJ web site that doesn't include set-up and adjustments. It's supposed to be a plug and play item but everything involves a certain amount of tweaking. :D
