Yes, you are correct, Insane I am, have the papers and the numberd socks and shoes to prove it, although if I had to choose, I'd still be insane, its more fun and you have an exscuse for running around down town during tourist season in a pair of ripped up jeans and a coller that says "Fausty" being walked by a member of the opposite sex and get away with licking the good looking women, its oh so nice to be insane. We get treated as "special" people, when in all reality half of the people that are diagnosed as insane or psycotic are just very inteligent and like to have fun. Although I've met some with a tad hang up like seeing purple people and thinking spiders are staring at them, but I think thats just something to keep them ocupied because their brian gets bored otherwise.

Halloween King could give you a better and more eloquent answer, him bein' a gothic scolar an' all, but basically, a Doppelganger is a 'double' of someone, usually malicious, and often an insane alter ego of the person in in question.

The Doppelganger is a favorite trope of gothic and Victorian literature, appearing in the works of the Shelleys, (both Mary and Percy), Edgar Allen Poe (his story 'William Wilson' being one example), and Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.'
