First suggestion is to replace the wood with square steel tubing. I tried to restore the wooden doors in a '36 Pontiac and was sorry. If I had to do it again, I would go with steel every time. Once the steel is in, it's a cinch to weld in the necessary brackets to mount any after market window riser.

 

Here is how one guy did it. Wish I could tell you who but I have forgotten. :embarrass It was done on a 36 chevy but the principle is the same.

I'm with Willys36, the cars I've been around that kept the wood had a hell of a time with it. It's tough to keep the doors straight and aligned to the body correctly, and things tend to rattle loose with the wood structure trying to hold everything together. On my '33 Chevy 5w, I'm definitely replacing the wood, especially in the doors and the jambs.
