can anyone advice a noob here with info on this set up in my 400 i just picked up? does it look like a stock cast crank with added mallory weights to be internally balanced? or a forged aftermarked crank? my 8inch harmonic balancer doesnt have visible weights and the flexplate looks exactly the same as my 350 flexplate apart from the addition of pea sized holes around the circumference which may barley male any difference
ive tried searching for ER 2 ER3 etc for the main caps and t6 t7 on the rod caps but cant find any info, anyone got an idea? and cant find info on je pistons for the JE622f code thats visible
much appreciated, thanks

Looks like somebody went through the trouble and expense to build this as an internal balance 400!

The JE622E is a 1.062 compression height expressly made for a 3.75 inch stroke and a 6 inch rod for a zero decked 400 block.

The rest of crank with mallory metal, the standard 350, 8 inch damper and pin holed 350 flex plate speaks to this has been through a balance shop as do the cap screw 6 inch rods.

Obviously this was build by somebody that knew what they were doing. My guess it was intended to race, this is a lot of work and expense just for cruise nights.

Sorry , I'm not seeing the Mallory metal . Scat & probably eagle make an internal bal 3.75 stroke crank using 6" rods , the capscrew rods are an upgrade . Look for identifying marks on crank , rods & pistons . Studs on the mains is also an upgrade, I'm a bit surprised at the condition of the balancer . Did you hear it run ? Run a compression & leakdown check ?

Without tearing it fully apart, I couldn’t find any additional markings on the rods or crank for the moment. No I haven’t heard it run and it had been sitting for a while. Will do compression and other checks when I put it back together.

Mallory in the front big counterweight as well. Installed correctly, sideways through the counterweight.

I also see aftermarket splayed bolt steel main caps with studs.
Someone spent a good bit of money building that engine.

I would measure the crankshaft stroke, the same piston could be used to build a 6.125" rod 377" de-stroker, they have some popularity with the circle track guys.

Use of a stock internal balance damper seems a little odd with such good internal pieces....but maybe they were trying to fool tech inspection or just the general public as to what the engine is.
Circle track and grudge street racers tend to be secretive.
