the wife's driver just lost its tranny. will go but won't shift out of first. when you accelerate to @ 15 mph, it goes into a neutral like state with the engine just revving. everything else id ok. fluid level is good. fluid is changed every 30-40k miles. are the bands gone or in need of adjustment or what ??????? (pulling hair out) guess it's of to the tranny shop monday morning. Any suggestions or ideas? oh yeah, 94 ford taurus, 3.8 l V-6, don't know what trans. never had any trouble except when the speedo gear wore out and it wouldn't shift right but it would shift..... car has 154k on it with really no trouble. oh yeah, forgot bout that blown head gasket, that was a beach 
was able to take care of that in the shop behind the house. but this fwd has me skeered. inlaws had one that had trans problems, but their son (teenager) drove it alot too. just put in a bunch of OT this month to put into my truck(on jackstands for a couple of years now) but it looks like its of to the trans shop monday......... if it has wheels or heels its gonna cost ya
