We recently acquired a 1960 Nash Metropolitan and we're now about ready to start working on it. The original engine has got to go--62 horsepower is just not going to do it for me!
we've considered a lot of different drivetrains but really haven't found the perfect one. It needs to be small, there's not a lot of room under the hood, has to be an automatic, my husband drives with hand controls which only work with an automatic and preferable from a rear wheel drive car.
I'd be interested in any and all suggestions that you might have.
This is the third addition to our garage of vintage cars, we have a 1931 Chevy, 5 window coupe which is a completed street rod, we also have a 1939 Ford, 2 dr sedan deluxe which is done as far as drivetrain, still needs paint and the interior is half done. The Met is my baby, it's going to be exactly what I want and I hope with the help of some very good car guys friends to do quite a bit of the work myself, big undertaking for this grandma! I'm looking forward to getting started on it.
Hope you guys don't mind a girl or two hanging out here!
