My '96 Thunderbird w/4.6 V8 just thru the "check engine" light. I went to the local parts store and they did a scan with their hand held diag. scanner and it came back as: po430, catalyst efficiency below threshold, bank 2. Is this a bad o2 sensor or something else, what side is bank 2. Drivers or pass. side. Thanks, Todd.

If the O'2 sensor is behind the cat. The cat may be bad. It might be wise to make some phone calls to Muffler Shops in your area, to see who gets OBD2 cat's rebuilt. They also should be happy to check the status of the cat in question.

Has anyone been under the car working on something lately?

I know...stupid question. I had a similar code with the old 89 ranger I had.

Somone (who shall remain nameless ;) ) knocked the wires off the O2 sensors while under there.
