My ol-man has a 454(stock). He doesnt have a car to put it in yet,but wants me to start building it for him.Hell we are just finishing the vette! I know for a fact that the crank needs to be turned and so on.... The question is has anyone ever used the Edelbrock pro-flo setup? Told him that it would be no biggie to install, but I dont know if it's the right setup for him.(Maybe too complicated).Asked him what does he want the engine to do,and all he said was that he wants to throw it into a hot rod and for it to make alot of power.Hmmmm?
I thought about a complete rebuild, some kind of strip/street cam, performer rpm intake and edelbrock matching heads with a 750 would be fine for him.Any suggestions?

How much money do u have to spend? the EFI pro flo from Edelbrock is great but expensive. If u have the money go for it. but if it was me. I'd use a dual plane intake, 750 cfm vacuum secondary carb , and a hydraulic cam. Most folks want power but dont have lots of money. choosing the right combo of engine components for your application is the key to success. And often a happy bank account.

Funds will be up to 6k for the engine, thats why i suggested the combo that i did to him.Yes the pro-flo,would be nice, but with the Edelbrock package(heads, cam and intake),I think he will have more power than he knows what to do with!

Oh yeah,now he is thinking of a camero,firebird or a T/A.
