Hey Gang,
My 72 Camino has a charcoal canister that I want to remove. It has three hose's that attach to it .On goes to the to the front carburetor vacuum port. One goes to the PCV port on the valve cover. And one goes to the gas tank ( I believe it is to vent the tank) I did try to remove the canister once. I plugged of the carb vac port, took the plastic tee out of the hose going to the PCV port ( I ran the other part of the tee to the back of the carb) And plugged off the hose that ran to the Gas tank. That is where the problem started. Since the tank was no longer vented ( I'm guessing), the fuel pump could not pull the gas to the engine....engine no go!
My question is...If I use a gas cap from a earlier Chevy ( the caps were vented)
will this cure the problem? Or is there more to removing the charcoal canister than that..... If so how do I do it correctly?..............jerry
