60 year old nailhead is starting to go back together, do I need to use ARP or can I use regular "Grade 8" bolts. At least on the heads and mains, rods too?
I am pretty sure I don't want to reuse the original bolts, I'm sure they have been torqued to spec at least 1 time.
This is not for a race car... Just a old 54 Buick 322 trying to put together.
greenhorn just askin...

Torqued to spec wont hurt a thing on elderly engines. Over torqued and corrosion will though. Just use the ARPs and know you have a bolt that will work. A warning though - make dam' sure that the new ARPs are the correct length as I've found that they aren't always a duplicate length of OEM. A crank snout bolt was too long by a quarter inch and ripped out a bunch of threads and the flex plate bolts too short and by ~3/16" on a recently completed engine build and using their 'assigned' part number

You need to understand the difference between torque-to-yield applications and older engines that are not torque-to-yield. Your Burford is the latter. Unless the bolts are damaged or rust pitted, there is no reason not to reuse them. Also note that the head bolts, main bolts, and rod bolts are not just high-strength - they have specific machined features. It is unlikely that you could replace them with generic grade 8 bolts. ARP bolts are overkill for your application.
