heads are off my motor. I wanted to clean up the shortblock some, get the gunk off the top of the pistons WITHOUT totally disassembing the shortblock.
Why? because I'm a wuss. I've got the heads in the shop now and I'm a little fearful of putting a new cam in and getting everything setup correctly as is...so I don't want anymore on my plate.
Is there a good way to clean all of the carbon off the top of the pistons without taking the whole darn thing apart?
I DID search. I've heard recommendations of kerosene, marvel oil, wire brush etc. etc. Just wanted to see if there is a preferred method while the thing is together.
Hell, if I did saturate the thing in kerosene, it wouldn't do any harm to anything...would it?
oh yeah, and as always--thanks for the help guys. I'm really trying here...not just making meaningless post after meaningless post.
