I HAD A T BUCKET WITH ONE DOOR IT'S NOT THAT HAD TO ACCOMPLISH. YOU CUT THEW BODY OUT WHERE THE RAISED PANEL LINES ARE YOU THEN CAN FILL THE CUTOUT SECTION WITH WOOD THEN FIBERGLASS THE AREA IN. USE TWO SMALL HINGES TO MOUNT THE DOOR. THE LATCH ON MINE WAS A SIMPLE CATCH TYPE LATCH USED ONLY ON THE INSIDE.

T Bucket Doors

Hi Recluse

Was just looking around for some info on TBucket door hinges and read your post. Know what you mean by getting older and its not so easy climbing over.
I have a 23 Bucket, glass, made 1973 in NC. Do not know who made it. It had no doors. I shopped around and located door kits at www.speedwaymotors.com, catalog #221 Optional Door Kit Right hand only kit# 900-2202 $189.95, includes budget hinges, latches and striker plate.
Evidently there are 2 types of kits, one for older Bucket (I got)and one for those that are speedways newer version. For structural reasons only the right door can be installed. I received my kit and it included the outer molding, door and etc. I stripped back the upholstery where needed and measured carefully and cut out and installed the outer molding. It is very rigged and conforms pretty well with the body lines. I used fiberglass in the can for all the installation. Will finish with some bondo. It really went very well, door fits perfectly. I can take pictures. I do not have the door installed as I am having trouble with the hinges they sent me, that is why I was in here looking for some help. don't want to chop any more up then I have to. It is a little work but will be well worth it.

I hate to tell you to go elsewhere, but I have two t-buckets and I have found that the national t bucket alliance is an amazing source, and I know a few guys are currently putting doors in there buckets over there! Its www.nationaltbucketalliance.com/ntbabbs

It's not bad for the boonies. On the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend there's always a show in St. Germain and also one in Tomahawk on the same day. In mid summer there is a show in Arbor Vitae (just past Minocqua) and another one in Haselhurst (just south of Minocqua). Also there are usually at least two shows in Rhinelander during the summer. Then at the end of the summer, usually the third Sunday in September, there is a show here in Lac du Flambeau hosted by the local casino and run by Badgerland Classics. Also, starting this coming summer, our local Culvers is going to host a monthly show in their parking lot - I think it's going to be on either Thursday or Friday nights.

Where abouts are you located? I show my 32 pickup all over the state - virtually every weekend from April thru October. Maybe we can hook up somewhere.

I'll second that notion, and not just for T buckets. There is helpful stuff there for virtually any build.

 

Hey cboy, I'm located in Colfax, WI. Just about 20 miles NW of Eau Claire, WI. Colfax has one show, Menomonie, which is about 20 mi west has a show also.
