Well I got a little merging of threads. :D Over at on the Trivia thread I posted a photo of this vacuum canister from the power brakes on my bosses 56 Plymouth. I asked him if I could have it for my Gran Sport and he said sure. You see my motor has a pretty radical cam and all I have is 10 inches of vacuum at idle, needing about 18 the power disc brakes can be an issue. I have never been happy with how this car stopped, needing lots of pedal pressure. Well at 1200 rpm I have about 23 inches so I figured if I had a canister to save that vacuum so when I stopped I could use it, hmmmmm. So I brought home the canister and I'll see if it will help.

It fits right in there behind the right headlamp.

You are living down there in Gods country. Barb and I make that one of our favorite motorcycle destinations. This is one time when you say it Suches it really doesn't. ... for those who don't know Suches, Ga is a town in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mtns. Gorgious area.

My first bike was 1941 indian i was 14 ,47 years ago, my Dad bought it he told me if i could get it running i could have it,replaced points with a set from a 6 cyl chevy straped a battery on service rack rode it to school in less than a week, never been without ine since ,nost of the time 3 or 4 ,i own 2 bikes and 4 ,4heeeler atvs now,my wife likes these as much as i do, but like you said i have lost several freinds in last two years none of the accidents were the bikers fault ,most were ran out of the road by cars & a couple trucks ,one was on a benefit charity ride with 670 bikes with a police escort,an eldery lady pulled out of a driveway about 60 bikes into the croud ,driver of bike paralyezed ,wife on rear deceased ,driver of car walked away. But cars wreck every day we still drive them,i guess im just hard headed, Riding thru the mountians ,the smell ,the sight ,the sound you will never experiance in a car even a convertible also i NEVER ride interstates only back roads ,Just my opinion.
