this is my first post since introducing my self ,Ihave been logging on for sometime, but just recently registered. I think that some of you guys need to lighten up a bit.this stuff is supposed to be fun. get that hot rod out of the climate controlled garage and drive it. we are mere mortals and the next guy that gets your pride and joy may not appreciate or understand it half as much as you do. hope this isnt too long winded.

Welcome to the board
We need to see some pictures of your ride :p
I don't believe anyone on this board is to hard on anyone, but I'm kind of insensitive :spank:

30dee :welcome:

Remember that there are alot of great people on this board, with vast knowledge and sometimes everyone needs to blow off steam now and then.
By the way I don't have much knowledge and can lead you astray and not realize it. :pimp:

Strongly disagree...

I visit www.olskoolrodz.com and the HAMB (www.jalopyjournal.com/forum) frequently and I love this board wayyyyyyyyyy more. People here are cool, relaxed and mostly very nice. Theres more knowledged on this board than any other I've seen sofar, and it's an extremely family friendly board.
I dont post at the others very much, but here I feel right at home.

I haven't been to OSR for a few months since they changed something and my link quit working. It was pretty slow but seemed ok. I like this board for its regular folk and no apparent kulture crapola. I like the HAMB because any kids on there keep quiet and listen, like kids were taught to when I grew up. Not that they don't need a place to speak their 2 cents but it is nice to get away from some times.

The HAMB seems so fast-paced, every hour there's like a whole page of new posts/threads. Plus they're so stuck up with their "traditional rods" culture and very narrow minded about it. I visit it every day and read the posts, but I never post myself. OSR its the same thing, if it isnt old school enough for them they'll give you crap, but its a bit more loose than the HAMB.

I guess that's just what they are about. Ryan runs the HAMB and makes the rules. Nothing newer that I think 1965, and no VWs. A little too much tattoos and culture for me but it is worth it to get the hotrods. Kind of like putting up with stuff here that isn't hotrods to get the part that is. A while back the Hamb got redone and we all voted to keep from having a bunch of different catagorys to post in. So any off topic doesn't generally make it very far, and anyone who hasn't read all the rules will get reminded real fast how things work. Kids there mostly listen and don't talk much

i havent posted on many boards. hotrodders is great. it passes the time at work when its slow. i hope you enjoy. i always spoke my mind without fear. people will see how much or little you know. then you can learn from there. freedom baby, youll probly never see anybody anyway.

take a picture of your car an put it in your photos.

willowbill screw HAMB if there been Jags!

lighten up

 I guess I may have offended some people, but what I meant by lighten up was that I think some hot rodders take this hobby way too seriously. I was not refering to anyone specific .I dont mean this site specificly, but also at the car shows and cruises .I realise that people buy or build hot rods for various reasons but my own personal opinion is that they look their best when they are rolling down the highway. sorry if I stepped on some toes!I am from northwest Pa. about 35 miles from lake erie.we are right on the edge of the snow belt, but we still get our share of winter. being new to the computer world I dont know how to post pictures, but as soon as I find out ,I willdo so.

hey neighbor I'm down there just north of pittsburgh. Where'd you find a 39 chev round these parts, most of the stuff I've seen around is either taken or junk.

good to hear from a Pa.hot rodder, the partsarama must be in your backyard ? I enjoy that swap meet, seems there are venders there that dont go to all the other swap meets. been lucky, never got struck in the mud down there. I bought my 39 in 1970,so they werent quite as hard to find back then. the car was always from Pa.but had been a hot rod for many years. the car had a ford truck front axle and steering box and  also a ford engine. sorry I seeyou are a ford man,but I drive a lowered ford ranger as my daily driver so I am not strictly a chevy man. I like them all as long as they arent stock.

I guess I should go over my posts a little better. I didnt mean I never got struck in the mud,I never got stuck in the mud.both would be unfortunate a ny way you look at it. 38 special, I have also been trying to lighten up,but my beer and pizza diet hasnt helped much .I did switch to lite bondo to go with my Bud light. lets have some fun with this stuff guys, life is too short to take your hobby so seriously.
