Hi
A quick question. Does anybody know what the taper is on a Mustang II tie rod end? I need to have some steering arms reamed to fit.

Thanks
Paul

Ok, trying t figure stuff out.
I'm a bit confused on reamer size labeling. I've read #'s such as a #2 or # 7, and then a 7 deg 1 1/2"/ft, or a 10 deg 2"/ft. How do the # sizes correlate to the deg sizes?

Thanks,
Paul

If you are looking in a machine tool catalog like enco or rutland, the #2 and # 7 are more than likely Morse taper and used for machinery. I believe 7 degree is the correct one, I know it fits the early Ford tie rod ends. The 10 degree is for larger ball joints. I saw this thread and was going to check my reams and see which one for sure was for a MII, but got busy  .

Measured one at the shop...MII rod end is 7 degrees, small end is about .560", big end is approx .630"

Mustang II Tie Rods

Thought perhaps this might help. It is a scan of a spec catalog showing the sizes of variouse tie rod ends. The Mustang II is part number 401-1114 (9th one down on the list).
Maybe this will give you some more info you might use.
