For you experienced Mustang II front guys:
Which is better,a power rack, or a manual rack. Got a 48 Ford tudor sedan I'm in process of clipping. Car had p/s added to original front end.
Is this car too heavy for a manual rack(parking, slow turning etc.)?? Any suggestions or experiences would help. Thanks, John

I have a manual rack on my 40 Ford Coupe and it work's great, so I guess it's up to what you want, why add it if you don't need it. I think the engine looks better with out the pump hanging on the front of the engine and you get more H.P with out one.

I put a manual rack on my 40 Chevy coupe and am really happy with it. I've been told that a power rack would tend to make the steering of those old Chevies too sensitive, and cause "darting", unless you change the pump pressure. My car is fairly light, and has a SBC in it. I'd guess your sedan is heavier, a power unit might be better, especially if you've going to install a heavy motor. It's kind of a personal decision, I think the manual rack is a bit cleaner installation.
