Simple question, not so simple answer.

What makes you happy?

For me it would be a close network of friends, a tight family, somewhere to go to just be byyourself and think, someone I can talk to who will listen. Working on my car, working in the yard, being at peace with myself no matter what the circumstances are.

Tonight, after a night out with my friends, I dropped everyone off at home, and went out to the small local airport. It was quite and empty. It felt great to just be out there and be all alone. I was able to stop and think about things. To become grounded again, forget about all the things that did not matter in life, and refocus on the things that did.

So, what makes you happy?

Nothin'.....I'm just a miserable old sh*t..............

Really, most of what you listed above. We are helping raise our grandkids, so it's that kid stuff all over again....sometimes, that can drive you nutz, be generally is rewarding.

The normal stuff, spending time with friends and family that I like.

I like looking at my car after I wax it. Walking outside and not hearing anything except birds singing. Driving late at night, being the only car on the road with my windows down and the stereo up.

What makes me happy?

A very cold beer after a 10hr workday and wrenching on my projects. My wife has asked me if there is anything I Can't do? The trick is to try and do anything, then finish it.

Happiness is.....

Just knowing that all I have to do is pick up the phone and my 70 year old dad will drop everything to come to my aid, even though he is 1000 or so miles away. And the fact that mom will let him.
<--------And sawing through the 4 speed, the dual Hooker Aero Chambers growling, and Little Richard or Jerry Lee Lewis CRANKING' from the stereo.

Good question. Sounds like a saturday night at a frathouse or something, but a good question none the less. ;) My projects and friends make me happy. I like to know that I have a forward motion in my life as far as career and personal interests that seems to have been recently arrested after my graduation and the crappy job market (and the fact that I have really no idea what I want to do with myself between now and whateverthehell I end up getting my master's degree in:rolleyes: :pain: ).

My girl is pretty amazing and her family is a very positive influence, so I enjoy spending time with her/them.

Thats all I got-

A warm sunny day, a bike ride with my family, cruising with a full tank of gas, a good song on the radio, being able to do up my jeans without having to struggle, making someone else's day better....and having 8 hours of sleep.:p :D
Oh...and ummmmm....world peace ( or at least peace at my house) :rolleyes:
