I love swap meets, and always buy something.

I think the best thing I ever bought was…..um…..probably BBC coated headers for a Camaro I bought for $180 and sold for $350

What's the best thing we ever found or the best deal we ever got? I am thinking a combination of the two, a treasure at a good price.

Two hit me in the head the second I read your subject title. The first was an NOS '64 Corvette shifter assy I got for $90! OMG I forget the details but it was something like '64-'65 Corvette only, I had a '64 at the time and I couldn't believe it when I saw the guy putting this tattered up GM box into this trunk as he was packing up to go home. I went and looked at it knowing exactly what it was and was willing to pay a lot more, the guy said "It's $100" and then said "But you can have it for $90 so I don't have to take it home" or something like that! What a treasure!

The second one was a pair of Buick Nailhead finned valve covers with the "BUICK" on the side.

I asked how much and he said $20. I handed him a twenty and had a number of people trying to buy them off me for a lot more as I walked around with them. LOL

Probably the absolute best deal was a 1948 Indian Chief horn I got for $30 and sold on eBay the next week for $280. :D

A couple things - the Performer RPM intake (brand new) that I'm using on my '31. Not super cheap, but it was 1/2 price of Summit. The other was a set of the old wide and deep fin valve covers and really crusty looking but perfect, $15 then sold at a swap meet for $125 after spending an hour or so cleaning them.

Actually I guess I got all the glass for my 37 (including the regulators and wing windows)
and a pair of taillights (including the mounts) plus some other nick nacs

For a couple hundred bucks at the swap meet, kinda forgot about that.

LOL, yeah, been there! Started when I was a kid building a mini bike! Bought a 1 horse cast iron Briggs and Stratton for $10 at a flee market and hauled it out of there bare handed. LOL

After buying a Hamilton Beach 3-station milkshake maker (Yes, in the all-time classic green!) and carrying it back to my car I wasn't sure my arms were ever going to work again! (Those li'l puppies are all cast iron and my car was over a mile away!) NOTHING makes a better shake or malt than those old beasts!

Now I take a pull-behind wagon with a 1,000 payload capacity every time I go to a swap meet!

This goes under the "Whats the best thing you ever passed up at a swap meet?" category.
Many years back, late 70's I think, I was at a non-automotive swap meet and saw a complete Rochester fuel injection with the correct distributor for $125. I just about jumped out of my socks. Then I noticed it wasn't for a Chevy, it was a Pontiac F.I. so I passed on it. That Pontiac F.I. was even rarer than the Chevy F.I. I still get a dislocated hip kicking myself in the arse for passing that one up....
