im almost ready to buy a mustang II IFS kit for a 52 chevy deluxe, ive been reading a lot of posts on here recommending chassis engineering bolt in or a fatman front clip, the fatman fabrication website has pics with air bags on their suspension, my plan is to run air bags front and back; is one of these front clips better than the other when it comes to using air bags on them?

fatman has a kit with the shockwaves for just under 3 grand.....didnt want to spend that much all at once, so if thats the route thats recommended, might have to post pone the build for a bit and save some $$$

thanx

I've looked at both and they are good products. I really like that C-E bolt in version as it allows you some adjustability if for instance somewhere in the car's 60 year life there's been a ding that might have moved the frame around. You can, after you are satisfied with placement, weld the C-E unit in place.

On the 48-54 Chev cars personally I like the No Limit eng crossmember. When using it with either Shockwaves or airsprings it was engineered using the longer stroke unit. It is a nice piece. Dont get me wrong, not knockin the FM piece at all. There are alot of those on the road and it is a great crossmember for those cars and both of those manufacturers have engineered those crossmembers for airsprings too. Meaning the use of airsprings wasnt just an after thought. :D I cant comment on the CE piece directly because I have not directly been a part of an install on one of those.
