Have the opportunity to pick up a set of rebuilt heads off a Gen VI 502. I'd like to put them on my Gen V 454. Here's the specs:
Casting No 14097088
Years 1989-94
CID 502
Intake 2.19
Exhaust 1.88
Chamber Open
CC 118

Would these be a good start for a street/bracket motor for my '67 Chevelle?
Of course, I'll be doing the cam, intake, yada yada as I go. But I'd like input on the heads.
Thanks!!

These heads have the largest, as cast, GM production iron head ports. In the neighborhood of 325 intake runners. They need to have the rocker stud bosses tapped to 7/16 for regular BBC guide plates.

The stock 2.19 intake valves tend to be very heavy. Replace with aftermkt stainless. These are 119 cc. chamber and will direct bolt to Mark V and VI blocks.

Port erea is a bit much for a street motor. Great for a race motor. I have sold several sets and no complaints in the horsepower dept.
