Hey just trying to figure out the best route to go on my converter options for my sbc transmission set up. I spoke with someone online about taking my factory converter, and his exact words was he would loosen up my converter. The cost would be 250$ I gave him the rpm range on the cam, and he said it would work fine. What im wondering if this would be a good idea, or should i go with an aftermarket converter with a 2500 stall. Im running a 350 bored 40 with flat tops and 62cc combustion chamber heads. The cam is a hydrallic roller with 533 inch lift on the intake, and 519 lift on the exhaust comps advertised duration is 299 with a rpm range of 2500-6200. Im running 373 gears in a 77 camaro. I would really like do just have him do the mods to the factory converter, but i don't want the car to fall on its face out of hole either. Thanks for reading

converter

the problem with modifing the factory 12'' converter for the stall you need is it wont be very efficent at top end.your car specs are similiar to mine go to jegs.com they have a 10'' converter 2500/2800 stall for 189.00 it will be a better choice for you, also get a trans cooler they run a bit hotter

The cam recommends a 2800 stall speed not sure if this factory 12 inch can work
