4L60E Bellhousing Change

I have somehow gotten a crack in 4L60E Bellhousing. It is in my 96 GMC 1500 4X4 5.7, but I had to change the Tranny out of a 98 Tahoe 4X4 some time ago due to cracks and leaks that developed in the 96 4L60E one piece housing (no bellhousing type). Everything bolted and plugged right in and has been working great for a year (I did have to use the 98 Tail Adapter Housing due to the 96 had a 4 bolt pattern and the 98 a 6 bolt pattern at the rear of trans itself). My question is will any 98 and later 5.7 4L60E Bellhousing (4 or 2 WD) work and is this the one that they call the "Top Hole". I don't remember if the 98 had the top hole or not and I can't see it while still in the truck and I would like to have my part in hand before I get to that point. Thanks for any help you can give me.

the 'top hole' bell housing is for the LS series engines... it is deeper - longer- different than the early bolt on bell housing... trans parts are different too

swap the stuff around , have fun
