I have a Friend with a 84-85 camaro with the 700r4 trany not shore if it is the early or late 700. This trany will shift out of first with the shifter in first at about 3800-4000 rpm,I think i remember that the Early 700s did this . The trans works perfect other then this ,can something be changed in the valve-body to stop this? To hold it in first. Thanks in advance

change the low/reverse boost valve in the pump/stator body to a larger unit. A .296 is the big boost valve if I am remembering the size correctly.
Next size down boost valve is the .282 ....... this will over ride the upshift feature when in low gear.
This is the boost valve next to the PR spring, not the main boost valve next to the retaining snap ring in the stack up of the PR & boost assembly.
