You could use a spacer plate, unsure about modification.

Well I want to get rid of the spacer plate or shave it as thin as possible.

Having clearance issues, and need the space!

 

Can you mount the carb backward and attach the throttle linkage to the top of the arm instead of the bottom?

 

Yes i can mount it however as long as it is sideways in referenc to the engine....

It is going on this modified EFI upper manifold I posted about the other day.

I haven't seen my carb yet, it is on the way ups from ebay...


I was wondering if could even cut off bottom part of the linkage, or another thought it to cut a releif in the manifold where the linkage goes... but I don't yet know how far down the linkage protrudes below the base.....

No problem cutting it off as long as you have a way to actuate it. Manufacturers put all kinds of knobs on the belcranks to accomodate various hookups but you can customizee yours as you see fit.
