Converting From Old Leafers To Coil Over Suspension

I have a 1991 chevy blazer 4x4 shortend and has a s10 cab and front end on it, that is strickly offroad. What I was wondering is there a way that I could build my own 4 link/coil over system so I wouldnt have to spend the big $$$ for the pre made systems. I want this set up because I like trail riding and the leaf springs do not give me the articulation that I am looking for. I was also wondering if anyone has done this and would like to help me out with this with some professional advice

rear coil over

I have done this many times, well a few times anyway. I do it by finding a donor vehicle and then simply cut out the rear section, frame and all in one section. then I measure in the area that I want to cut out of the build vehicle and then insert the donor section. Measure, adjust, and then jig for square and true. Then its just a matter of overlapping the frame sections and welding it up. It is a pretty simple weekend project. Just remember to tack this in place and then recalculate your mesurements and length, height and square. When you are comfortable with everything then finish weld.

Always!!!! Grind your welds and inspect them.... Now is the time to make sure they are good. Remember ride height and spring loads on coil over set-ups are pretty simple to adjust if you find the ride ain't to your 'likin'.. Find a spring crossreferrence book and order just exactly what you need..
