building a 29 ford roadster need rear end help. Does anyone know how wide the rear end should be. I know it may very according to wheel spacing. I need an idea.

That is like saying you are building a 350 Chevy. What kind of oil pan do I need!!!
Fenders, pro street, power, tire size etc, etc, etc 9", 8.8, 8" 10 bolt, 12 bolt, wheels, Resto mod
There are lots of folks here that will help you out but you have to them some additional basics of your build.
