Door handle question

I've noticed a few suicide doors with door handles that seem to 'pull' the wrong way, like the one below.

The actuator rod needs to be pulled away from the latching mechanism to open the door, but in this configuration the part of the handle inside the door pushes towards the latch instead.

Does someone make a gizmo (like a bell crank or cable) to switch direction, or is this something I need to do if I want this type of inside handle?

cable operated

I grabbed some mercedes inside handles at the bone yard to use when I make the roadster doors for the 31 Nash. Cable operated can be pointed any direction.

Some handles come with a cable, or just hook a cable to it. May require some pulleys and there are kits available - just dont remember off hand who has it. But many of the street rod vendors sell the stuff.

we did suicide doors on an 07 mkz for sema. the fabricator used cables and stock latches in stock location on the inside. for the outside handles they were swapped left to right. looks oem
