I'm building a fiberglass kitcar and was thinking of using Slick Sand. Since Evercoat Super Build 4:1 goes on thicker, would using this allow me to eliminate a coat or two? Or would I be better off with thinner, multiple coats of Slick Sand? Thanks...

Slick sand is a good primer it builds fast and you will need reducer to get it to lay down because it is so thick but watch it it will set up in the gun before you know it

havent used the 4:1, but planning on it soon. Slicksand, sprayed through the right tip, you need no reducer or thinning agent. I use a sata poly gun, belive it is a 2.5 tip. If you want to reduce, use acetone. Acetone wont affect flash times, as a urethane grade reducer will some.

I would probably use the 4:1 on a fb body, especially if it is a hand laid body. I believe it would cut down on the number of coats using it. I would say 2 good coats of it would equal 4 coats of slicksand, according to the mil thickness in the spec sheets.
