I have, and man,i did not like it!! My hand froze on a bare piece of metal while it shocked me for about a second or so.Left me a little dazed and some burns on one of my fingers! Let's hear your "shocking" experience!

Not a "shocking" story but I have a friend who had heart surgery and they installed a combination pacemaker and defibrillator. Now, under doctor's orders, he can no longer tune his own car or get near the engine when it is running because of the MSD and electrical charges in the immediate vicinity. It's a real shame...beautiful model A coupe with blown small block...because he has a hard time finding friends who are capable to tuning a blown motor and willing to make the trip to his place to do the work.

Yes just once about 5 years ago. I had just gotten done charging the A/C up, and was looking for a slight miss with the compressor running. I did not realize my feet were standing in water from the evaporator drain. It sent a numbness through my entire body, that took about 10 minutes to get my feeling back in my hand. :pain:

Yes sir I have and I still have the scar on the back of my hand (smacked the crap outa the hood) to remind me to NEVER do that again. Although the girlfriend who saw me do it thought it was the funniest thing in the world!! :mad:She was hooting it up next to me while I twiched.
This is something that you do not need to have witnesses's around for! :D LOL
Especially from the opposite sex. :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:

This makes me think, Hey Honey, could you grab the top of the distributer and turn it a little "bit" for me? :D :D :D :D

I've been shocked by a bunch of stuff, but yet an MSD. Thankfully. The usual shock is no real big deal but always makes me jump like a rabbit.
Anyway, I used to work with an old guy who could actually stand holding the pulled plug wire of a running engine in his hand and not so much as blink. Of course new hires were never informed of this ability. Sooner or later they'd walk past him while he was working and and reach out and touch them. POW. Highly amusing to everyone, and everyone got it, sooner or later. Yes, he got me too. Still amazes me that he could do that.

Haven't done an msd but back in the old days I did a Vertex magneto. Like a dumb *** I went and gave the thing a spin. They said it sounded like a cackling witch when it shot fire out of the holes. All I know is there was a pattern of burn marks in my hand that matched the wire holes in the cap. My hand was numb for a whole day.

Man, this thread had me sweating bullets this weekend as I was tuning the car. The little guy on my shoulder was laughing in my ear and telling me to watch out the entire time my hand was on the distributor while the engine was running.

No, there really wasn't a little person sitting on my should. I am not that nuts.
