You aren't going to learn anything if you don't show any initiative to learn how to do things.
If all you do is hang out and play pool when there are no cars to wash...then that is all you will ever get to do.
When there aren't any cars to wash or customers to taxi...ask every one what you can do. Eventually someone in the shop sees that you are wanting to learn something and not play pool, they will show you things.
If you take you job seriously you never know what your potential may be...but if you just hang out at work, you'll be looking for a new job as soon as the season slows down.

AMEN to that. There is not much of a market for pool players. Show them what they want to see, some get up and go. someone who is interrested in learning a trade not a game.

Sorry that didn't sound the way I wanted it too The only reason why I was playing pool for part of the time is kuz they don't have much for me to do righ now.They don't have anyone to teach me how to prep cars and stuff till next week.The guy is on holidays and no one in the shop has time to really teach me anything.I do every thing I can and give the guys a hand when they need help and I take out all the garbage and stuff.It was the second day I started there that there was nothing to do.It was soooo dead that day.Thats all everyone pretty much did was play pool all day and slack off.It was one boring day.O well starting next week I will be one busy guy.

 

Really neil you should just stand there and watch the guys do work if you have nothing to do... I have learned alot from watching greg do stuff when I was younger and just watching his technique in doing stuff as we worked on my car I quickly learned how to do it all...
