The monte was mid 14s with its last motor.(350 w/ 305 heads and Summit cam) Built a 320horse 350 expecting 14.0 on street tires and 87 octand gas till I found a cracked frame and canned the project for my 58 Volvo.
I am thinkin the Volvo aughta scream(in the 1/8 anyway) it only weighs like 2700lbs and for the time being has 4.56s.

My LS1 car runs 11.32 Hey rubberman you want to try me??? :p :)

My GMC diablo was running 11.20's, but now with the rebuild, we are hoping for Very low 10's or high 9's.

Sure ill race you Ls1, i know ill get beat but oh well its still fun, gives me more insentive to mod up :))
I'm just joking, I respect anything fast, & I guess that I should take it as a compliment that alot of people these days use the LS1 as a comparison as to how they run. We have guys on LS1.com & LS1tech.com that are running in the 9's with LS1's. The thing that most LS1 drivers these days are using for comparison are the 03 Cobra's & yep I've smoked one or two. But the crew that I hang out with & race with is about half Mustangs & Half F-Body's & we've got some fast mustangs in the club. We even hang out with a couple of 11 sec ricers, but they are sleeper ricers @ that. No stickerz or Fart pipes allowed. :)

Id just like to get to the track and see what the Gremlin will run. Id say with me in the car, it would weigh around 2700-2900lbs or so. The motor is pretty stock and the 2 speed tranny kills the bottom end, but Id guess low 14's to mid 13's???? But hopefully the new motor will change that. HG:D

Jamnut you do have a good point people do use the Ls1's as a comparision very very much. The only beef i have with them are SOME SOME of the drivers, a lot of Ls1 drivers are very ****y (guess they have reason to be) but i just dont like it when the rich little punks bash on everyone elses car. i hope i race one before i get my car painted :))) No offense intended im sure you know they ones i mean.

Don't feel singled out Fox, I probably run 15's, maybe a 14 something if I'm lucky, but I doubt it. After I put this tunnel ram I'll probably run 16's j/k:D Hey Rubberman, I hear you about the LS1 drivers, but it's just like any other group, there are jerkoff's and cool guys that drive: ricers, crotchrockets, musclecars, etc.

Rubberman, I'm with you on the arrogance of certain LS1 drivers, but I try not to act like them. On the LS1 boards we catch alot of crap from Trolls coming over from Mustang boards, Civic Boards & The supra boards love to give us hell too. One thing though is in the car club that I'm in the 3 fastest cars we have are 2 - Supercharged 4.6L Mustangs & 1 - 97 Cobra. So I get humbled very often in my LS1 car. Another thing is I'm a 34 year old KID, I've been around. Our LS1 car is my wifes Daily driver, it just happens to be able to run into the 11's when she allows me to spray the motor. My LS1 car isn't the fastest thing that I own, but it is an 11 sec daily driver that gets 30 mpg on the highway & has nice cold AC. My GMC diablo ( when it gets back on the road ) will hopefully be capable of running High 9's on a 10.5" ET street, so it will be the fastest thing I have, but it might not ever see double digit Gas Mileage, has Manual steering, no radio & definatly no AC. I think that GM's Gen III small blocks are amazing, but they have their share of problems. I also think that Ford's Mod motors Kick *** too. The DOHC Supercharged 4.6 in the Cobra's are making in excess of 700 Hp on stock short blocks & the 5.4l Supercharged SOHC Lightning motors are putting down amazing numbers too. Try to run an 03 Cobra owner & see how arrogant he is. Oh yeah, BTW try to never get arrogant before a race, because I've already been handed my *** by a 10 sec Civic @ the track. - That was a hard one to walk away from when I had about 20 of my car club friends there when it happened. ;)

eight90 I get your point about Fast & Quick, but you seem to be someone that spends alot of time @ the track, so you know that Trap Speeds don't win races, ET's do. I've lost more one race getting caught sleeping on the tree.

1/4 mile times?

Rubberman and jamnut, those little punks grow up to be big 6icks with little talent for not trying to bug other people with their pride. I haven't been drag racing with a car since 1967 and I ran a 21 with a 283 powered Impala SS. I drive what I build on the street. I did the show thing and thats not where I want to be. I liked the people at cruise-ins and watching drag racing much better. I suppose if you can afford to pay someone to build your ride thats OKAY too but whose work can you take pride in then?? Sometimes I make a mistake and it costs me but I learn and go on and build something else. You can buy a 300hp ride brand new and go racing with it, or pump/juice that up to 400 or 500 hp and go racing with that. I must be a motor head because I like to watch most any kind of racing. I just don't care to compete, must be feeling my mortality I guess. Before scatter shields my buddy lost part of his right leg when a flywheel exploded and cut through the floor of his car and severed his leg. I'll set in the stands and hope everyone wins!! Some people buy their toys and some will build theirs. I have a reason the take pride in my ride, I built it.

I've never been in anything faster at the track than a 14.7, one was a stock 97 mustang GT, and the other was my bro's 69 C10 with a one legger and stock 350. I never had had traction in my 69 camaro so it never saw the track. BUT, I'm hoping for low 10's or maybe even high 9's with my pro street Nova.
BTW-
<---that ain't me or mine, and I never said it or acted like it was. I just love the pic, and everytime I see it, it gives me that boost to get in the garage and work on mine. I thought I'd mention that since I read a thread about someone playing off a truck like it was his, but wasn't.

13.7 @98 mph

5.0 Lincoln MkVII 1989. Naturally aspirated. Stock Airbag suspension.

Not super fast, but 13.7 - 13.9 range all the time, all kinds of weather and track conditions.
Not bad for a 3800lb. Lincoln!
