I think that truck body is earlier then 30's. The tip off is the fuel tank located inside of the firewall, the cap points to that.

Have a 32 there is vent in that location, fuel tank was under then rear of the bed.

I would search 20's era, the grill, could be another id. I understand rat rods and anything goes.

The fuel cap location is the most telling detail.

It is mostly a Model A, 1927 through 1931. Last version to use a fuel tank in the cowl.

That is NOT a T radiator. T's ended at the end of 1927. 1928 on to 31 is the A. T radiator shells never had the droopy peak in the middle.

 

The body is 30-31 Model A and the radiator shell is either 28 or 29 Model A

Front axle is a stock Model A piece that has been drilled by the owner.
Engine is a small block Chevy V8

 

I went with the cab because most "not a car expert" folks might not grasp the concept of the grille defining the year of manufacture. Vehicles in general are deemed to be a certain year based on what the body shell is, so it seemed like the simplest answer, to use as a title or file name for his artwork, that would not be incorrect, would be what I said.:drunk:

It definitely had the fuel filler up in front of the windscreen. I remember my dad's well.
