not sure about a mopar crank but on chevys the casting line that runs down the middle of the cranks is real thin for a cast and thick for a steel crank

 

I thought Chevy cast cranks had the thin seam and forged were the wide seam? And the froged have a nice even surface (smooth ) on the counterweights while the cast are grainey.

 

That is a cast crank. See the really thin sharp parting line on the rough cast part of the counter weights? That is the casting partign line. If it were a forged unit, the 'parting line' would be quite wide and smooth. Of course, all early Chrysler hemis have forged steel cranks, unlike the majority of Chevys and Fords with their weenie cast iron ones.
