How butchered up ?

If the chassis is OK from the firewall back........a frame clip might just work.
Also...sometimes you can find another old Chevrolet of similar vintage ( 1946, 1947 or 1948 that is rusty, bent, broke or incomplete ) and have a good parts car and a chassis to put under your current project.

Actually a frame from any 41-48 Chevy coupe, (and I believe sedan as well), will fit. They're all the same for those years. :)

Actually a sedan frame is diffrent from a coupe frame. Rear bumpers mountlower on a sedan and the gas tank is diffrent. Progressive Auto makes a new frame for the coupes. www.progressiveautomotive.com
I wasn't quite sure about that. The dimensions are the same but there are some differences....... I'll file that away for future reference.

The frame itself is the same, the bumper brackets are different.
Frank, How the He11 are ya...... Long time no talk to. Tell Denise that she did real good in the Ego Rama and it was a nice spread in R&C on her Olds.
