I had a guy pickup a stock built 700r4.
He told me he's putting it behind a 475 HP 383 stroker with a 200 shot of nitrous.
He's got a 3500 stall convertor. I was told its a non lockup?

Any comments on this and how long before this thing grenades? :drunk:

it depends on how he drives i guess. if hes not very rough on it, and maintains it, could last for awhile provided:
it has had installed a converter valve kit (non lockup pump conversion kit)
has no intentions of racing it

other than that, this thing is gonna fail in short time i believe. but of course, ive been wrong before, just everyone else on the planet. :mwink:

the kit i use is from transtar. part # T74165A.
crosley mentioned what it does. i have 1 in each of my venturas, 1 my dad and i built in 1996, and has over 150,000 miles on it, and still going strong. the other i just had to pull it back out and have had to go back into it cause the "basket"in the input drum got stuck on the load plate for the 3-4 clutches. its already been fixed and back in the car.
both cars came with chevy engines so thats why the 700 was used and not a 2004r.
